The Mid-Bay Bridge is a 3.6 mile, two path cost connect spreading over the Choctawhatchee Inlet that gives an essential transportation interface among Niceville and Destin. Construction started on the scaffold in 1992 and was finished in 1993. The scaffold was built for two principal purposes. 1. To address the issues of the rising travel industry traffic. 2. To expedite the storm departure measure. Spare time and get to the Gulf quicker! When traveling from the north, the speediest method to Destin, the beaches of Okaloosa County and South Walton is the Mid-Bay Bridge across Choctawhatchee Bay. Alongside the recently opened Spence Parkway, this 15-mile, restricted admittance passage from SR 85 to US Expressway 98 in Destin has 2 separate cost focuses and encourages you to get to the core of Destin rapidly and tranquil.
Since opening in June 1993, the Mid-Bay Extension has filled in as a fundamental aspect of our north-south parkway framework in Northwest Florida. The 3.6 mile, two (2) path cost connect traversing the Choctawhatchee Bay in Okaloosa District, gives an essential transportation interface between the networks of Niceville and Destin. The Extension offers nearby residents an advantageous choice for driving to/from work, going to class, shopping, or taking off to recreational exercises.
There are two tolls when crossing the Mid-Bay Bridge. Be sure to not confuse the two tolls. You may get an invoice within 30 days of using the TOLL-BY-PLATE to pay this toll by mail. But you also would have paid the Mid-Bay Bridge toll at the bridge. These are 2 tolls that need to be paid separately.
