A big question that is asked by travelers when looking for a vacation over the Holiday season is, "Is there anything to do for my family over the Holiday season?" Well, of course, there is! Whether they are Holiday-themed, or just simply take place during the Holidays, each week brings something new to the Destin area.
Fort Walton Beach is known for hosting its Farmers Market in downtown Fort Walton every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, all year round. It begins at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 1:00 p.m., so it's the perfect mid-day activity on those beautiful sunny days during the cooler winter months.
You'll be in for a treat on Thanksgiving Day because the pumpkin pie and sweet potato casserole was not enough of a treat! Start your "turkey" day bright and early, & make room for all of that delicious food with the 30A 10K, 1 Mile & 5K races. Located in Rosemary Beach, this event is the perfect way to get your body up and going in preparation to fill those Thanksgiving plates in the evening. After your morning race, head on down to Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort to enjoy the "Thanksgiving Buffet Cruise"! This activity is the perfect option if you don’t want to spend all day cooking that big feast, or if Aunt Sandy forgot to bring the mashed potatoes. Have your choice of enjoying a Thanksgiving lunch from 12- 2:30 p.m. or, save that turkey until dinner hours from 6- 8:30 p.m.
Want to get your family in the true Holiday spirit? The Festival of Trees is a tradition held every year on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. This Christmas inspired event is so enjoyable and unique that you'll want to come to visit this time of year every year. Each tree is uniquely decorated for a contest and remains standing through Christmas Day!
