The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting shutdowns have all but decimated the short-term vacation rental industry. Governor Ron DeSantis’ “plan for recovery” will be the final nail in the coffin for many STR owners and managers who will not survive the future restrictions outlined in the three-phase order.
Just about everyone in the short-term vacation rental industry agrees that getting the STR ban and the subsequent restrictions lifted entirely is the only true road recovery. Letters have been sent from community leaders both public and private, petitions created, lawsuits filed. Currently, the most positive response came from a judge who is willing to set a hearing soon.
We do not know exactly when the short-term rental ban will end, but the masses are mobilized and the momentum is in our favor. We will keep you informed of any updates.
